Robert Brauns is a technology entrepreneur and inventor. He founded his first company, Experra Corporation, in 1983. Experra developed and distributed financial databases for personal computers. Brauns was awarded a patent for software he invented at Experra. Brauns founded his second company, MergerNetwork (now DealStream), in 1995. MergerNetwork was the first online marketplace for buying and selling businesses and one of the first online marketplaces of any kind.
