It means a member has passed a fraud screening test using their phone. Here’s how it works: A member starts the process by entering their phone number on a form. We send a code to the member’s phone via text or voice. The member enters the code into another form. If the code is correct, we send the phone number and other information about the member to Telesign. Telesign calculates a fraud risk score for the member and sends it to us. We review the score and, if it’s low enough, we verify the member. Telesign provides fraud risk services to a number of major companies, including Salesforce, Homeaway, and Tinder.
