It means that a member has verified their identity with a government-issued ID, such as a passport, driver’s license or ID card. Here’s how it works: a member starts the process by submitting a photo of their ID and also a photo of themselves (a “selfie”). We send these photos along with other information about the member to Jumio. Jumio analyzes the ID and tells us whether it’s real or fake. If it’s real, and the name on the ID matches the member’s name in our database, we verify the member. Jumio’s ID verification service is used by AirBNB, NetJet, and many other e-commerce companies.
